COLUMBUS, Ohio –– SoundCom Systems, today, was selected by Springfield City Schools to replace and upgrade obsolete and outdated paging and intercom systems at all fifteen (15) schools within the District to the new Rauland-Borg Telecenter-U Campus Edition platform.
This district-wide upgrade is the first of its kind in the State of Ohio and provides school officials and first responders with unprecedented capabilities uniting all schools on a common platform and fully integrating into the district’s existing data network.
This new platform will enable pages and announcements to be distributed quickly and easily throughout any classroom, school, multiple schools, or even across the entire district. In the event of a crisis situation, pre-recorded announcements can be automatically distributed to every classroom that needs instructions empowering faculty and staff to execute their crisis plan, knowing that the system is delivering reliable information to those who need it.
“The Telecenter-U platform is a real game changer for schools,” says Richard Threadgill, Director of Business Development for SoundCom Systems, “Springfield can now get information to students and staff when they need it reliably and accurately.”
The system is designed to integrate into the school’s existing infrastructure, re-using speakers, amplifiers, and wiring wherever possible, keeping the total cost of deployment very low.
This new upgrade also dramatically simplifies the bell schedules for every school, delivering a unified scheduling system that is easy to use and fully integrated with the paging system. Schedules can now be changed with the click of a button and bell tones react accordingly. Emergency events that delay a schedule can be automatically adjusted on the fly putting the focus on teaching and not programming.
