GATES MILLS, Ohio –– Hawken School, an independent coeducational college preparatory school, today selected SoundCom Systems of Berea, OH to design and install a range of audio and video technology systems serving classroom instruction and communications needs for the Stirn Hall addition on the main campus .
SoundCom will consult, design, install and support numerous technology systems including classroom audio visual systems, building wide paging, and surveillance systems. Working closely with the architect, general contractor, and supporting trades, SoundCom has designed a comprehensive technology solution which sets the stage for youth development and learning unrivaled in the region.
“We’ve been able to work through a design/build process with Hawken School that redefines the sourcing methodology when it comes to technology,” says Richard Threadgill, Director of Business Development for SoundCom Systems, “by working directly with school administrators we have been able to design systems that match their vision with precision, while simultaneously aligning their cost base at the beginning of the project, not at the end like most bid processes do.”
Classrooms will be outfitted with the latest in interactive projection systems for truly engaging learning experiences along with sound reinforcement engineered to each classroom space. Control and operation of these systems are standardized and consistent between spaces so teachers can focus on teaching, not running an AV system
“This new facility is very unique and presents a number of integration challenges,” continues Mr. Threadgill, “each classroom has different physical attributes with ceiling types and finishes, but the technology is built to perform consistently and reliably.”
In addition to the classroom technologies, a complete digital IP-based camera surveillance system is being designed and installed giving school administrators unprecedented vision across the facility with a high focus on student safety and well-being.
Skirn Hall will open in the Fall of 2016.
