ROCKY RIVER, Ohio –– Rocky River City School District, today awarded SoundCom Systems of Berea, OH a contract to design and install a new audio visual system in the Professional Development Center at the main district offices.
This new system is part of a renovation of an old school building at the district offices, converting what used to be a gymnasium into a new, highly collaborative professional development and training center. The system will feature a new, massive projection system, an advanced audio reinforcement system, and a highly flexible video conferencing solution using web-based tools for collaboration and training.
“Not many school districts have tried to build facilities like this.” says Richard Threadgill, Director of Business Development for SoundCom Systems, “This is a great example of repurposing a space for a more practical purpose, while maximizing the latest in technology to reach a larger audience.”
This upgraded facility will be able to host a wide range of events from traditional training classes to panel discussions, to fully interactive video conferences connecting faculty and staff to subject matter experts anywhere in the world using tools like WebEx, Skype, and GoToMeeting. The systems are united under a single, easy to use Crestron control system making operation of the system a snap and enabling educators to concentrate on their content, not on the AV system.
“We were able to build a system that really meets the needs of the school district, working in a collaborative design/build process that controlled costs,” continues Mr. Threadgill, “Rocky River continues to set the bar high.”
