UNIONTOWN, Ohio –– SoundCom Systems of Berea, OH today was selected by FedEx to design and install the audio and video systems in the conference and training center at their Uniontown, OH Fedex Custom Critical facility.
SoundCom will engineer and deploy a sophisticated audio, video collaboration system based on the powerful Crestron DigitalMedia distribution platform to better enable the sharing of content in general meeting and training applications.
“This is a really flexible and powerful solution for FedEx,” says Jason Schmid, Account Executive for SoundCom Systems, “this project has incredible connectivity for just about any kind of device or media with wired and even wireless connections.”
This system will continue to position FedEx Custom Critical as a leader in time-specific critical shipments enabling more compelling and engagement content and information sharing with training tools unrivaled in the industry.
“We’ve worked very hard to design a system that allows virtually anyone to connect any kind of device, even without the burden of hard-wired connections so meetings can startup fast,” continues Mr. Schmid, “FedEx is in the trade business, not the AV business. Being a time sensitive company, difficult meeting setups and slow startups are just not an option.”
The system will be operated with highly intuitive and easy to use touch screen controls, including using off-the-shelf Apple iPads as wireless control interfaces. Project is to be completed in May of 2015.
