As a primary healthcare provider for western Pennsylvania and beyond, the employees of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center have conference rooms with top-of-the-line technology, which they can use for conferences, presentations and meetings and they can also use the technology to communicate with other hospitals around the world. SoundCom has had the opportunity to work with the hospital providing them with audio and video conferencing systems and multimedia presentation systems.

SoundCom installed an advanced PolyCom Audio Video Conferencing unit, along with a Crestron Touchscreen Controller. This system will enable the hospital to hold wireless audio conferences, video conferences or both. Along with the conferencing system SoundCom put in Panasonic projectors and Polycom cameras to use for viewing the video conferencing. The advanced Biamp audio system allow for easy use when conducting an audio or video conference.

SoundCom also equipped the hospital with a multi-media presentation system in the main conference room. The media system is also controlled through the touchscreen controller. The touchscreen allows for simple control of the projectors, projector screens, DVD/VCR player, and local computer inputs and volume controls. The presentation system also has a document camera used for projecting documents onto the projector screen.
