Cleveland’s primary trauma center recently opened its new Critical Care Pavilion aimed at integrating the emergency, surgical, and critical care services of Metro into one cohesive unit utilizing the latest in technology. The three story, 150,000 square foot facility replaces and expands upon the emergency department and preoperative center and is one of the nation’s most advanced emergency departments.
The facility features 76 treatment rooms, fourteen 23-hour observation units, and six resuscitation units for rapid assessment of trauma injuries all integrated with a Rauland ResponderNET nurse-patient communications system designed and installed by SoundCom Systems.
ResponderNET maximizes staff performance and patient care by integrating wireless communication, staff assignments, and patient whiteboards into a user-friendly PC interface.
SoundCom outfitted the 20 new operating rooms with the latest Responder 4000 nurse call system integrated with Code Blue systems. The overhead paging system installed by SoundCom was custom designed for flexibility and targeted broadcasting.
